COMPOSITION:

Oxytetracycline dihydrate (as oxytetracycline) .200mg

Excipient (ad.).l ml

DESCRIPTION:

Oxytetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic with bacteriostatic action against a large number of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms.

The bacteriostatic effect is based on the inhibition of the synthesis of bacterial proteins.

INDICATION:

To treat infectious diseases caused by gram positive and gram negative bacteria senstive to oxytetracycline in cases of respiratory, intestinal, dermatological genitourinary and septicemic infections in equine, cattle, sheep, goat, swine and dog.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Intramuscular or subcutaneous injection.

Cattle and horse:2-3ml per 100kg b.w.

Pig, sheep and goat:1ml per 10kg b.w.

Dog, piglet and lamb:0.5ml per 5kg b.w.

Poultry: 0.5-1ml per hen

SIDE EFFECTS:

Do not use the product in ewes producing milk for human consumption. oxytetra 20 % LA is not recommended for use in horses, dogs and cats.

Do not dilute oxytetra 20 % LA.

Although oxytetra 20 % LA is well tolerated, occasionally a slight reaction of a transient nature has been observed.

Not for use in animals suffering from renal or hepatic damage.

The use of oxytetra 20 % LA during the period of tooth and bone development, including late pregnancy, may lead to discolouration.

If concurrent treatment is administered, use a separate injection site.

Wash hands after use. In case of contact with eyes of skin, wash immediately with water as irritation may occur.

CAUTION:

Do not exceed the above mentioned dosage

Stop medication at least 7 days prior to slaughter of the animals for meat purpose

Milk of treated animals should not be used for human consumption 3 days post administration.
