Composition:

Contains per g:

Isometamidium chloride hydrochloride        1000 mg.

Indications:

Intromidiumis indicated for treatment andprevention of trypanosomiasis caused byTrypanosoma spp. in cattle, goats,sheep, camels, horses and dogs.Preventive dosage ensures protection for 2 to 4months. When clinicalcases occur, the whole group should be treated.

Contra indications:

Intromidium should not be administeredsubcutaneously.

Avoid concurrent administration of othertrypanocidal drugs, particularly diminazene aceturate.

Avoid underdosing.

Calves, goats and sheep        :      treatment:0.25 0.5 mg/kg by deep IM injection.

       :      prevention: 0.5 1 mg/kg by deep IMinjection.

Camels   :      0.5 0.75 mg/kg using a 1% solution byvery slow IV injection.

Horses    :      0.5 mg/kg by deep IM injection.

Dogs      :      1 mg/kg by deep IM injection.

DeepIM injection should occur preferablyin the middle third of the neck inlarge animals. Doses exceeding 10 ml shouldbe injected at multipleinjection sites on each side of the neck. Make surethat the syringe iscompletely empty before retracting it from the IM injectionsite.Afterwards, to prevent leakage of Intromidium into subcutaneoustissues,firm pressure must be applied on the injection site. Sheep andgoats areinjected deep in their thigh muscles.

Withdrawal times:

- For meat: 30 days.

- For milk:     0 days.

Packing:

Sachetof 1 gram. One sachet is sufficientfor the preventive treatment of 8animals or the curative treatment of 16animals, weighing 250 kg each.
