Oxytetracycline Injection (veterinary)
Yzoxytetra 20 % L.A.
Oxytetracycline 20% L.A. injection

Composition per ml:
1) Oxytetracycline dihydrate (as oxytetracycline): 200mg
2) Excipient: Q.S.

Description:
1) Oxytetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic with bacteriostatic action against
a large number of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms
2) The bacteriostatic effect is based on the inhibition of the synthesis of bacterial
proteins

Indication:
To treat infectious diseases caused by gram positive and gram negative bacteria sensitive to oxytetracycline in cases of respiratory, intestinal, dermatological
genitourinary and septicemic infections in equine, cattle, sheep, goat, swine and
dog

Dosage and administration:
1) Intramuscular or subcutaneous injection
2) Cattle and horse: 2-3ml per 100kg body weight
3) Pig, sheep and goat: 1ml per 10kg body weight
4) Dog, piglet and lamb: 0.5ml per 5kg body weight
5) Poultry: 0.5-1ml per hen

Side effect:
1) Do not use the product in ewes producing milk for human consumption. Choxytetra
20 % L.A. is not recommended for use in horses, dogs and cats
2) Do not dilute choxytetra 20 % L.A.
3) Although choxytetra 20 % L.A. is well tolerated, occasionally a slight reaction
of a transient nature has been observed
4) Not for use in animals suffering from renal or hepatic damage
5) The use of choxytetra 20 % L.A. during the period of tooth and bone development,
including late pregnancy, may lead to discolouration
6) If concurrent treatment is administered, use a separate injection site
7) Wash hands after use. In case of contact with eyes of skin, wash immediately with
water as irritation may occur

Caution:
1) Do not exceed the above mentioned dosage
2) Stop medication at least 7 days prior to slaughter of the animals for meat purpose
3) Milk of treated animals should not be used for human consumption 3 days post administration
4) Keep out of reach of children

Withdrawal time:
Milk: 7 days, meat: 21 days

Storage:
Stored in cool place protecting from light

Packing:
2-10ml/ampoule, or 30-100ml/bottle
